A Few Details About Inspection
While the team at Dave’s Auto and Truck Service is always happy to assist you with digital safety inspections during your service visits, we’re also here to help you meet the Pennsylvania requirements for state inspection.
For your personal daily driver, the checklist includes the structure and function of the chassis, body, brakes, tires and wheels, steering, suspension parts, mirrors, glass, windshield wipers and washer, lights, defrost, odometer, speedometer, and horn.
If you operate a large truck or RV, it must go through a similar safety checklist that includes any heavy-duty specific components.
Further, motorized vehicles must pass emissions standards. The exact requirements depend upon the area of the state where the unit is registered. Our designation is the greater Philadelphia zone, so we’ll assess your exhaust system and emissions based on these customized requirements.
Additionally, trailers must also undergo an annual state check. We’ll need to assess the condition of the underside, frame, braking system, internal condition, glazing, lights, and operability of the doors.
Should there be an issue that prevents your vehicle from meeting the standards, we’ll discuss the problem with you and, upon your approval, make the repairs needed to bring the automobile back into compliance.
