Perhaps you’re wondering if your vehicle needs auto A/C repair. Obviously, if your vehicle’s air conditioner isn’t working at all, it needs a repair. That’s often a result of a lack of power, which can be caused by something such as a broken wire. It’s actually a good idea to bring your transportation to us for an A/C check about once each year. Ideally, this should happen before the weather warms, and you need climate control. Beyond that, there are some signs that your system isn’t working optimally and needs attention. For instance, the air won’t be cool, and you may not hear/feel the compressor come on if that component has failed. Also, if your system works but doesn’t cool well enough, it may need a refrigerant recharge. You shouldn’t, however, need a recharge very often. If you do, we’ll need to find and correct a leak. Also, watch for puddling water underneath the dash, as it could point to a clog that allows flooding back into the passenger cabin. Finally, be aware of a damp, musty stench each time you engage the A/C, a potential indicator of mold in the system.
